A lawmaker representing Suleja/Tafa/Suleja Federal Constituency, Abubakar Suleja on Tuesday, doled out N50 million to his loyalists as reward for standing by him for many years.
According to him, it is necessary for him to show appreciation to them for remaining his supporters all this while.
Suleja urged them to use the money judiciously, adding that the disbursement will be in three phases.
ASHENEWS reports that while some were given N1 million, other groups got N500,000, N300,000 and N200,000 each, respectively
However, following the disbursement of the money, the lawmaker has come under criticism on social media.
Some critics observed that he was insensitive to the security situation in the state.
One Facebook user, MD Abdul wrote on his wall, “Hon Lado disbursing 50 million raw cash to his loyalist and supporters is a misplaced priority. While we have thousands of people chased by Boko Haram from communities in his zone, most of these people are hopeless and helpless in IDP camp. What has he done?”
