A two-term member representing Suleja/Gurara/Tafa Constituency in the House of Representatives, Abubakar Lado Abdullahi has lost his bid to return to the lower chamber of the National Assembly (NASS).

Lado lost the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election held in Suleja on Tuesday to Haruna Abubakar Magaji.

The earlier scheduled election conducted on May 27, was cancelled due to violence which resulted in irregularities in the outcome of the result.

The rescheduled election was held on Tuesday under tight security.

The delegates screened wer 120 who voted for their choice aspirants under strict observation and monitoring by security agents, officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and APC chairmen of Suleja, Gurara, and Tafa local government areas.

Sorting and counting of ballot papers began immediately after the voting and the winner was announced by the Secretary of the Electoral Committee, Isyaku Lawal.

While Magaji polled 116, the incumbent Abdullahi got four votes while Ado Abubakar and Attahiru Musa scored zero votes, respectively.
