The Kebbi state governor, Nasir Idris has warned the new members of his cabinet that he would not tolerate indiscipline and non performance.
The governor gave the warning after their swearing in ceremony, performed by the state acting Chief Judge, Justice Umar Abubakar in Birnin Kebbi on Friday.
Idris told them to operate collectively to satisfy the yearnings and aspirations of the people aimed at fulfilling campaign promises made by incumbent administration.
The governor tasked the new commissioners to give 100% loyalty to the government, warning that he would not tolerate indiscipline or non deliverance.
He further warns, “all of you must carry the people along or be shown the way out”.
Idris also mandated them to hold periodic meetings with communities in their local government areas towards uplifting their standard of living.
He made it clear that the commissioners were appointed based on merit and competence.
The governor talked about the distribution of food items free to the inhabitants of the state as palliatives to cushion the effect of current economic hardship.
Two of the twenty six commissioners are women while portfolios have been assigned to all the appointees. Eight new ministries were also created.
The Commissioners are; Abubakar Muhammad Birnin Kebbi, Ministry of Finance; Engr. Abdullahi Umar Faruk Muslim, Ministry of Works; Isah Abubakar Tunga, Ministry of Higher Education; Nura Bala Fingilla, Ministry of Youth and Sports Development; Muhammad Dangi Juli, Ministry of Lands and Housing; Kabiru Usman Alaramma, Ministry of Animal Resources and Husbandry; Haliru Muhammad Wasagu, Ministry of Solid Minirals Development and Mining; Shehu Muazu, Ministry of Agriculture; Hayatu Bawa, Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development; Musa Muhammad Tungulawa, Ministry of Environment; Bello Abdullahi Kaoje, Ministry of Water Resources; Garba Salihu Takware, Ministry of Rural and Community Development; Yunusa Misa Ismail, Ministry of Health; Dr. Abba Sani Kalgo, Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning; and Muhammad Hamidu Jarkuka, Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Empowerment.
Others are Ibrahim M. Muhammad Sakaba, Ministry for Digital Economy; Usman Abubakar Ladan, Ministry of Commerce and Industries; Garba Umar Dutsinmari, Ministry for Local Government and Chieftancy Affairs; Yakubu Ahmad Birnin Kebbi, Ministry of Information and Culture; Junaidu Bello Marshal, Ministry of Justice; Samaila Yakubu Augie, Ministry of Home Affairs and Internal Security; Muhammad Sani Aliyu, Ministry of Religious Affairs; Zayyanu Umar Aliero, Ministry for Special Duties; Auwal Manu Dogondaji, Ministry for Establishment Training and Pensions; Halima Hassan Kamba, Ministry of Women Affairs; and Dr. Halima Muhammad Bande, Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education.
