The De Renaissance Patriots Foundation, a socio-cultural organisation of Lagos State indigenes, on Tuesday, paid a condolence visit to the family of the late billionaire businessman and traditional title holder, Otunba (Dr) Isiaka Adekunle Ojora, at their residence in Ikoyi, Lagos.

The delegation was received by the head of the children and former First Lady of Kwara State, Mrs Toyin Ojora-Saraki. The Foundation, led by its Chairman, Board of Trustees, Professor Adele Jinadu, presented two documents to the family: a letter of condolence addressed to the Royal Family and presented to the widow, Erelu Oju’Olape Ojora, and a tribute in honour of the late Otunba, which was handed to Mrs Ojora-Saraki.

In the condolence letter, the Foundation described the late Otunba Ojora, who was the Otunba of Lagos and Lisa of Ife, as a towering figure whose life was marked by dignity, service and excellence.

It noted that as a Prince of Lagos, he upheld tradition with grace and wisdom, while as a statesman and captain of industry, he made immense contributions to national development and inspired generations through his leadership, integrity and generosity.

The Foundation stated that his passing was not only a great loss to his family, but also to Lagos State and the nation at large, adding that his legacy of honour, cultural pride and selfless service would endure. The letter was co-signed by the President of the Foundation, Mr Miftah Bolaji Are, and the Secretary General, Mr Yomi Tokosi.

“On behalf of the Board, Management, and Members of De Renaissance Patriots Foundation, we extend our deepest condolences to you on the transition of your patriarch, Otunba (Dr) Isiaka Adekunle Ojora, OFR, CON, JP, the Otunba of Lagos and Lisa of Ife.

“Otunba Ojora was a towering figure whose life exemplified dignity, service, and excellence.
As a Prince of Lagos, he upheld the nobility of tradition with grace and wisdom. As a statesman and Captain of Industry, he contributed immensely to national development and inspired generations through his leadership, integrity, and generosity of spirit.

“His passing is not only a profound loss to your family, but also to Lagos State and Nigeria as a whole. Yet, we take comfort in the rich legacy he leaves behind. A legacy of honour, cultural pride, and selfless service to humanity.

“We pray that Almighty God grants the entire family the strength, comfort, and fortitude to bear this great loss, and that our most revered Otunba is granted eternal rest among the righteous and the ancestors he so honourably represented.

“Please accept our heartfelt sympathies and assurances of our continued prayers and support at this difficult time,” said according to the letter of condolence co-signed by President of De Renaissance Patriots Foundation, Mr. Miftah Bolaji Are, and its Secretary General, Mr. Yomi Tokosi.

In the tribute, the Foundation further described the late Otunba Ojora as a visionary industrialist who, beyond his traditional roles, played a significant part in Nigeria’s economic development. It highlighted his reputation for integrity and innovation in business, as well as his commitment to mentorship, philanthropy and belief in Nigeria’s potential.

It said Otunba Adekunle Ojora “was a visionary industrialist whose contributions to Nigeria’s economic development earned him national and international recognition.”

“His leadership in business was marked by integrity and innovation. He inspired countless individuals through mentorship, philanthropy, and unwavering belief in Nigeria’s potential.”

Responding, the widow, Erelu Oju’Olape Ojora, and the head of the family, Mrs Toyin Ojora-Saraki, expressed deep appreciation to the De Renaissance Patriots Foundation for the visit and kind gesture. They commended the organisation for upholding the values of indigenous Lagosians, which they said their late husband and father exemplified, and prayed for continued blessings on the Foundation, its leadership and members.

Other members of the Foundation’s delegation included a member of its steering committee, Engr. Lateefa Onikoyi.
