A Federal High Court in Abuja on Tuesday dismissed an application filed by Ms. Ihuoma Nneji seeking to set aside the arrest warrant previously issued against her by the Nigeria Police Force (NPF).
Delivering the ruling, presiding Judge Justice Mohammed Umar stated that the application lacked merit.
Umar emphasized that the court could not restrain the police from performing their statutory duties.
As a result, the application was dismissed in its entirety.
It is recalled that the NPF, on April 16, 2025, declared Nneji wanted over alleged offences of criminal defamation, injurious falsehood, and cyberstalking of Abuja-based lawyer Mr. Henry Uzochukwu.
Nneji, daughter of Frank Nneji, owner of ABC Transport, had approached the court to vacate the warrant of arrest granted in favor of the Inspector-General of Police in suit number FHC/ABJ/CR/627/25.
The latest decision implies that the arrest warrant issued and published against Nneji on April 16, 2025, remains valid.
The police are thus authorized to arrest her wherever she may be found to answer the petition against her.
