A Saudi Arabia bound Max Air plane, conveying 500 intending pilgrims from Jigawa State on Wednesday evening, had an emergency landing at Malam Aminu Kano International Airport, MAKIA.

According to a media report, it was gathered that the Boeing 747 aircraft that departed the Dutse airport in Jigawa State had to discontinue the journey to Saudi Arabia when it was struck by lightening that affected the noose of the airplane.

Some of the intending Hajj pilgrims in the aircraft reportedly shared their experiences, that they were scared of the development as many of them were already thinking otherwise about the situation.

The aircraft with registration number, Max B747-HMM with 559 passengers onboard inclusive of 21 crew is currently at MAKIA.

When contacted, one of the Managers of Max Airline in Kano, Bello Ramadan, reportedly confirmed the development, adding that the passengers and crew were about being transferred to another aircraft that was almost set to continue the journey.
