Côte d’Ivoire government has launched a tech scheme for the development of the country’s first technology hubs aimed at empowering women farmers with digital tools and agricultural processing skills.

The initiative is designed to strengthen agribusiness capacity among women by improving productivity and enabling them to scale their operations through innovation and technology.

The project is being led by the Ivorian Ministry of Women, Family and Children in collaboration with the Ministry of Digital Transition and Digitalization. Together, they plan to establish hubs that will expose women farmers to modern technologies and advanced agricultural processing techniques, helping to accelerate the growth of women-led enterprises in the sector.

Cybastion has been named the lead partner for the initiative. The company will support the rollout of the hubs by providing access to digital tools, as well as training and mentorship programs to help women producers expand their businesses and connect with wider supply chains.

As part of the broader plan, modern agricultural processing centers will be built across 15 localities spanning nine districts. These facilities will focus on converting raw staple crops into value-added products and will feature laboratories, processing workshops, training rooms, and exhibition spaces aimed at driving local economic development.

To ensure inclusivity and encourage participation, each center will also incorporate childcare services, removing a key barrier for women farmers and enabling them to fully engage in training and business activities.
