The Executive Secretary of the Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency (KADSEMA), Usman Mazadu, said the agency has contained a compressed gas tanker leak in Kaduna South.
Mazadu told reporters on Monday in Kaduna that the agency responded jointly with the Kaduna State Fire and Public Safety Agency after receiving a distress call on Sunday.
He said emergency responders secured the scene while cooling operations continued to stabilise the tanker and prevent escalation.

“No casualties or injuries were recorded, and the tanker driver escaped unharmed,” he said.
Mazadu advised motorists and pedestrians to avoid the Nnamdi Azikiwe By-Pass near Unguwan Mu’azu until emergency officials declared the area safe.
He said traffic had been diverted to alternative routes to facilitate emergency operations and protect road users.
Mazadu commended residents for their cooperation and urged them to comply with the directives of emergency personnel until the operation was concluded.
