The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) has announced power outages in various parts of Abuja, including hotels and diplomatic buildings.
The company made the announcement on its verified X handle on Saturday.
The affected locations include Bolingo Hotel, Wada Maida Building (which houses the headquarters of the News Agency of Nigeria), the embassies of Sudan, Egypt, the European Union, Turkey, Pakistan, and India, as well as the National Planning Commission, National Hospital, Envoy Hotel, and Karibu Hotel.

Other areas affected include Garki Areas One, Two, Three, Seven and Eight, Garki Village, Garki Market, Ubiaja Street, Kaltungo Street, Lagos Street, Oka Akoko Street, Treasury House, parts of Asokoro (including Yakubu Gowon Street), Imo Government Lodges, Gado Nasko Street, Justice Sowemimo Street, Hassan Musa Katsina Street, parts of Jasse Martin, NIA, TY Danjuma Street, Lugbe, Jedo, Forte Royal, Back of Dunamics, Customs Quarters, Aviation Village, Piwoye, Kapwa, Ok Water, Nicomsat, Korean School, and Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport.
AEDC attributed the outage to a technical fault.
“The technical team of the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) is currently working to restore power supply. We regret the inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience and understanding,” the company said.
