Mr Oluyemi Ibiloye, Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) in Ondo State, has commended the smooth conduct of the ongoing Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) organized by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).
Ibiloye gave the commendation on Friday during an extensive monitoring exercise across designated Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres conducting the UTME in parts of the state.
The commandant, accompanied by the Ondo State Coordinator of JAMB, Mr Abdulhakeem Abdulkadri, expressed satisfaction with the orderly arrangement, punctuality of candidates, and strict adherence to examination guidelines.
Ibiloye, who applauded JAMB for its consistent efforts to improve the examination process through the use of technology, said the CBT system has significantly enhanced transparency and efficiency.
He assured candidates, parents, and examination officials of the corps’ unwavering commitment to safeguarding all examination centres across the state.
The commandant also cautioned members of the public against spreading unverified information, particularly rumors suggesting possible disruption of the examination by disgruntled elements.
According to him, adequate security measures have been put in place to forestall such occurrences; therefore, citizens should remain calm and law-abiding.
He further charged NSCDC personnel deployed to the centres to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, discipline, and vigilance in the discharge of their duties.
“Proactive service delivery and strict adherence to operational guidelines are essential to sustaining the integrity of the examination process.
“NSCDC will continue working closely with JAMB and other relevant stakeholders to ensure that the nationwide examination is conducted successfully without any security breaches,” he said.
The JAMB State Coordinator, Abdulkadri, commended the NSCDC for its visible presence and professionalism, noting that the deployment of personnel to strategic locations has played a crucial role in maintaining peace and preventing disruption.
He described the collaboration between JAMB officials and security agencies as commendable and instrumental to the success of the exercise.
