According to Gumel, the legislature stood as pillar between the judiciary and the executive arms and provides succour to the ordinary people with the overall development of unity, peace and security.
He sought for robust relevant legislations on government policies as well as the enactment of laws that have direct bearing on solutions to the ongoing insecurity.
Gumel stressed that “since the narrative of internal security had changed over time, there is the need for the House of Assembly to bring up necessary legislations that would support the police to acquire the right technology, equipment and other needed support to function effectively.”
The Deputy Speaker, Abubakar Magaji who received the command management team, condoled the Command over its personnel who recently died during a gun duel with terrorists while protecting pilgrims.
