ASHENEWS reports that the Kwara State police command has lifted the ban placed on rallies and all forms of processions in the state.
This was contained in a statement issued on Saturday by the Spokesman of the Kwara State Police Command, SP Okasanmi Ajayi.
Ajayi said that the police in the state have been able to curb violent attacks under the guise of protests over fuel and Naira note swap challenges through the ban.
He said that the Police Command has made adequate preparations to forestall all forms of violence before and during the elections.
He further solicited support from residents in tackling crime and criminality in the state.
The Kwara State Police Command had on Wednesday placed a temporary ban on all rallies and processions in the state.
The Police had said that the ban was to allow them to evaluate and access the security situation in the state after it received an intelligence report that hoodlums were planning to hijack any rally or procession to cause chaos.
