The Police Command in Ogun has called for stronger collaboration with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) to combat drug abuse and trafficking in the state.
The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in Ogun, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, made this known in a statement issued to newsmen on Thursday in Abeokuta.
Babaseyi quoted the state Commissioner of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni, as making the appeal during a familiarization visit to the NDLEA Command in Abeokuta.
“The CP and the Ogun NDLEA Commander, Tijani Rabe, explored avenues for sustained synergy and collaboration in combating drug abuse and trafficking.

“Emphasis was on intelligence sharing, joint operations, and coordinated public sensitization,” he said.
Babaseyi added that, in recognition of his commitment to the fight against drug-related crimes, CP Ojajuni was decorated with the War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) ambassadorial tag.
“This signifies his role as an advocate for promoting a drug-free society.
“The CP appreciated the NDLEA for the honor and reaffirmed the police command’s resolve to strengthen inter-agency cooperation in addressing the challenges of substance abuse and its attendant crimes,” he said.
