The new Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Delta Sector Command, has pledged to consolidate existing achievements while strengthening road safety operations in the state.
Edem made this known on Monday while addressing FRSC officers at the parade ground of the FRSC Delta Headquarters in Asaba.
“I want to run an open-door administration. Feel free to contribute and ask me anything; my ears are open,” he said.
“We will reason together, combine our ideas, and come up with the best workable solutions.
“I am going to consolidate on whatever my predecessor has achieved and make the FRSC flag fly higher in Delta State,” he added.
He urged officers to see him not just as their superior but as a team player, saying they would work together to resolve challenges.
“We will work like teammates. I will be open with you when there are issues. Every command has its peculiar challenges, and nobody will deny that,” he said.
“When we make mistakes, we should correct them. We should avoid deliberate mistakes. With the wisdom God has given us, we must scrutinise our processes and performance. You have the work to do, but how you do it matters.”
He also advised officers to maintain proper dressing, noting that good appearance boosts confidence in public engagement.
“We need to dress well and look good. That is one of the ways to boost our self-confidence in dealing with the public.
“You are here to serve the public, not to lord over them. We must listen to them, be fair, and be friendly.
“The uniform already places us in a position where public sympathy often lies with the people, not us. So we must work deliberately to earn public trust.
“What will make us excel is our ability to work through challenges and find workable solutions,” he said.
