The Commandant of the Nigerian Armed Forces Resettlement Centre (NAFRC), AVM Nnaemeka Ilo, has urged trainees to remain worthy ambassadors of the Armed Forces.
This message was conveyed during interdenominational thanksgiving and Juma’at services marking the Pre-Discharge Course 1/2026 Passing Out Ceremony.
The interdenominational thanksgiving service was held on Sunday at St. Martin De Porres Catholic Church, NAFRC, Oshodi, with trainees, staff, families, and well-wishers in attendance.
Ilo described the occasion as a moment of gratitude and reflection, congratulating the trainees on completing the six-month resettlement training program.
He urged them to apply the entrepreneurial and vocational skills they acquired, and to uphold discipline, integrity, patriotism, and selfless service in civilian life.
“Remain worthy ambassadors of the Armed Forces as you transition into civilian life,” he advised.
The Chaplain, Navy Capt. Robert Oparaji, encouraged retiring personnel to contribute positively to society and maintain good community relationships.
Oparaji urged them to utilize their wealth of experience and remain committed to nation-building through exemplary conduct.
Delivering a sermon titled “Give Thanks to God,” Army Warrant Officer Stanley Ebuwa emphasized gratitude and faith at every stage of life.
Ebuwa reminded the congregation of God’s mercies throughout their military careers and urged continuous thanksgiving and praise.
Earlier, a special Juma’at prayer was held on Friday at the NAFRC Central Mosque for Muslim faithful as part of the ceremony.
Representing the Commandant, Navy Capt. M.R. Adamu said retirement provides an opportunity for family time and the application of acquired knowledge and experience.
Adamu urged trainees to promote peace, mentor younger generations, and contribute to community development as good ambassadors of the Armed Forces.
The religious activities were an integral part of the program, providing spiritual guidance as participants prepared for life after service.
They also underscored the centre’s commitment to promoting moral values, spiritual growth, and responsible citizenship among retiring personnel.
