Gunmen on Friday, attacked 12 villages killing 42 persons in Zangon Kataf local government area of Kaduna state.
The president of Atyap Community Development Association, ACDA, Mr Samuel Achie disclosed this while addressing newsmen in Kaduna on Saturday.
According to him, the bandits stormed the communities, setting houses on fire and injuring at least eight people.
Achie claimed that the bandits burnt down a total of 338 houses, and injured eight persons.
“In all the attacks in the 12 different villages as at today, a total of 42 people have been killed and 338 houses burnt with eight people wounded.
“Several other valuables were not left out as eight cars, 13 motorcycles, generators, food and domestic items were either looted or consumed by fire.
“The whole situation looks like the militia wants to grab and occupy our land. The Atyap people are law-abiding citizens that have been loyal to all successive governments to date and wonder why they should be left alone to carry their cross now,” he stated.
He appealed to Kaduna and the federal governments to come to their aid by providing more security operatives, humanitarian relief and a peaceful atmosphere for villagers.
