ASHENEWS reports that a militant group, which identifies itself as the ‘Force of Egbesu’ has threatened to unleash violence in the Bashan clan, southern Ijaw local government area of Delta state in the 2023 elections.
The group, in a video that went viral on Sunday however gave no specific demands to the government.
In the video, the leader, who did not give his name, issued a strong warning to the federal government and the Bayelsa state government to come for a dialogue with the group.
“This video I am doing, Mr. President, listen and listen very good, also governors in Niger Delta, I am with the force of Egbesu’. I am doing this video for Bayelsa state and also the president. This coming up election, if the Governor and the president don’t know what to do, I am the force of Egbesu’.
“I am coming for you people for the election. If you don’t know what to do…come to me, Delta state governor come to me, or else, there will be no election for the Bashan clan.
“This coming up election, there will be bloody election in Bashan clan, southern Ijaw local government,” he threatened.
The video, first posted by ‘Goldmynetv’ now has over 31,000 likes and over 2,000 comments.
