A member of House of Representatives, representing Chanchaga Federal Constituency in Niger state, Umar Bago has won the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary held on Friday. He polled 540 votes to defeat other nine aspirants. The African Development Bank (AfDB) says the heat-tolerant wheat production, being supported by the Bank in Nigeria, will help reduce importation of the product by 40 per cent by 2023. The bank’s Vice President, Agriculture, Human and Social Development, Ms Beth Dunford said this in an interview at the sideline of the Bank’s 2022 Annual meetings in Accra, Ghana.
