The African Union said on Monday that it has suspended Burkina Faso from all its activities in response to last week’s military coup, until constitutional order is restored. Burkina Faso had already been suspended from the West African regional bloc, the Economic Community of West African States, though ECOWAS stopped short of imposing sanctions after the Jan. 24 coup that deposed President Roch Kabore. The Sokoto state command of the Nigeria Police have killed 23, arrested 57 other suspected bandits and recovered cache of weapons. This was disclosed by the Deputy Inspectors-General of Police (Operations), Zaki Ahmed while addressing newsmen at the command headquarters on Monday.
