The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Ondo/Ekiti Area command, on Saturday, said that it supervised the exportation of 3,991 containers of cocoa beans in 2021. The Area Comptroller, Uche Ngozi made this known in a statement issued to newsmen in Lagos. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has detained the Director General of Voice of Nigeria (VON) Osita Okechukwu. He was reportedly detained on Saturday over alleged case of conspiracy, abuse of office and misappropriation of public funds to the tune of N1.3 billion. Okechukwu, who reportedly arrived the commission headquarters at about 1.30pm to honour its invitation, was still being detained at the time of filing this report. Acute food insecurity is likely to deteriorate further in Nigeria and 19 other countries, particularly between February and May 2022, a new report jointly anchored by the Food and Agricultural Organisation (FAO) and the World Food Programme (WFP) has warned.
