The Supreme Court of Nigeria has dismissed the report of panel of inquiry, instituted by Rivers state governor, Nyesom Wike, which indicted former Minister of Transportation and All Progressives Congress (APC), presidential aspirant, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi of alleged fraud while he was governor. This is contained in a 75 page written judgment of the seven-man Supreme Court panel dated May, 27, 2022 was delivered and signed by Justice Emmanuel Akomaye Agim, in the appeal marked SC/911/2017. The Police Command in Kogi on Sunday confirmed another yet to be ascertained explosion in Kabba Town of Kabbah-Bunu local government area of the state. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) says it has uncovered another alleged fraud amounting to N90 billion in its ongoing probe of the suspended Accountant-General of the Federation, Ahmed Idris. The total now stands at N170 billion. The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), in its latest report on Monkeypox, said the country recorded six cases and one death in May. The centre said that Nigeria’s risk of exposure to the Monkeypox virus was high based on the recent risk assessment it conducted. The NCDC in its latest epidemiological summary on Monkeypox which was published on Sunday evening noted that since January 2022, Nigeria had continued to report sporadic cases of the disease. A Prelate of the Methodist Church of Nigeria, Dr Samuel Uche has been kidnapped by yet-to-be-identified men in Abia state.
