ASHENEWS reports that members of the Dingle Uboh clan of the Mayah community in Demsa Local Government Area of Adamawa State have called on Governor Ahmadu Fintiri to probe the recent communal clashes in the area.
The community members disclosed this during a press briefing on Thursday in Yola.
A representative of the community, Hebron Chindo told journalists that eight casualties were recorded while no fewer than 100 persons, including women and children, have been displaced due to the incident.
Chindo, who said that the incident is believed to have been sponsored by some influential persons in the community called on the state government to come to the aid of residents.
“We decided to speak out with the hope that our fervent cries for justice will be amplified.
“As peace-loving people, we are compelled to seek the intervention of Gov. Ahmadu Fintiri, who is the Chief Security Officer of the state, to constitute a panel to investigate the root causes of the crisis and penalize anyone found guilty irrespective of position, wealth and other differences, as well as end the crisis, for us to live in peace and harmony”, Chindo appealed.
