A High Court sitting in Maitama, Abuja, on Friday, remanded the former Accountant-General of the Federation (AGF) Ahmed Idris, in prison custody over his alleged involvement in the illegal diversion of public funds to the tune of about N109.4 billion. The presiding judge, Justice A.O. Adeyemi Ajayi, ordered the remand of Idris, after he was arraigned on a 14-count charge bordering on conspiracy, criminal breach of trust and money laundering. Thirty persons have reportedly died in fatal motor accident involving three hummer buses at Tashan Musa village in Kudan local government area of Kaduna state, along Kano-Zaria highway. According to eye witness account, the three vehicles involved in the accident immediately went into flames, causing passengers in the vehicles to burn beyond recognition. Confirming the incident, the Zaria unit of the Federal Road Safety Corp (FRSC) attributed the accident to over speeding, reckless driving and inpatience.
