An Egyptian court on Tuesday sentenced a judge to death for murdering his wife, the judiciary said, in the third high-profile femicide case in the country in two months. The Kwara governor, Abdurahman Abdulrazaq has clarified that there was no clash between the people of Ajase-Ipo town in Irepodun local government of the state and Fulani in the area. Abdulrazaq said those engaged in a clash with the Fulani were members of a group who were travelling through the area from a neighbouring state. Lagos state is ahead of other states of the federation in the latest COVID-19 cases, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) says. This is as the centre reported 144 additional infections from August 14 to 15. On its official website on Tuesday, the NCDC stated that out of the 144 new infections, Lagos state reported 101 cases, while Abia confirmed 13 additional cases.
