The Director-General, National Senior Citizen Centre, Dr Emem Omokaro, says the centre will inaugurate social safety net for older persons to further enhance their livelihoods in the country. It also gave free drugs to beneficiaries, its vice-president, Dr Abdulkadir Ahmed, told newsmen in Ilorin on Saturday. Katsina state government has supported 3,010 farmers on various interventions under the Nigeria COVID-19 Action Recovery and Economy Stimulus, NG-CARES programme. The Coordinator of the FADAMA CARES Component of the programme, Mas’ud Banye disclosed this on Friday in Katsina after inspecting some farms under the programme to assess the level of implementation. Two persons were confirmed dead while four others sustained injuries in an accident involving a Nissan Cabster and a Mack truck at Iyana Egbado, Itori on the Lagos-Abeokuta expressway on Saturday.
