The Army Council has promoted 122 senior officers to the ranks of Major General and Brigadier General in recognition of their meritorious service to the nation. The promotion, comprising of 52 brigadier generals to the rank of major general and 70 colonels to the rank of brigadier general respectively, was approved at the council’s sitting on Thursday. The Federal, states and local governments have received N902.053 billion from the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) as statutory allocation for the month of November. A statement by the Director (Information/Press), Ministry of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Mr Phil Abiamuwe-Mowete on Thursday, said of the N902.053 billion, the federal government received N358.515 billion; while the states and local government councils received N270.836 billion and N204.130 billion, respectively. The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Abdulrasheed Bawa has disclosed that his commission has recovered N134.3 billion and $121 million as proceeds of financial crimes.
