The World Bank has commended Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi for refunding US$ 4.63 million surplus funds under the Nigeria Erosion and Watershed Management project (NEWMAP). The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved the introduction of a Specialised Police Service Scheme for the Nigeria Police Force to boost its revenue base and check financial leakages. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, complained to a Federal High Court Abuja on Wednesday that former Senate President, Bukola Saraki was blocking the agency from investigaing him. The EFCC counsel, Chile Okoronkwo told Justice Anwuli Chikere when the fundamental rights enforcement suits, filed by the immediate-past Senate president, were mentioned in the court. The management of the University of Lagos, UNILAG, has shutdown its campus following more students that tested positive for the Delta variant of COVID-19. The Ignatius Ajuru University of Education, Port Harcourt, Rivers state, has suspended its lecturer, Godwin Olai, following leaked audio recordings in which some students alleged that he demanded money to help them write their projects.
