Sexual and gender based violence cases totaling 774 were recorded between 2020 and first half of 2021 in Adamawa state. Of the number, 297 of the perpetrators have so far been convicted. The National Pension Commision (PenCom) on Monday said it had commenced payment of the 2.5 per cent differentials of 2004 and 2014 specified by the Pension Reform Act (PRA) to retirees. Mr Saleem Abdulrahman, Head, Contribution and Bond Redemption Department, PenCom said the beneficiaries were retirees between 2019 and 2020 of the Federal Government Treasury Funded Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDA’s). President Muhammadu Buhari has assented to the N983 billion 2021 supplementary budget recently passed by the National Assembly. Nigeria has begun the processes to adopt eco-hydrological solutions and innovations to address water challenges. Eco-hydrology uses the understanding of relationships between hydrological human influences to improve water security, enhance biodiversity and further opportunities for sustainable water resources development. Bandits on Monday kidnapped the traditional ruler of Jaba chiefdom, 80-year old Gyet Maude in Jaba local government area of Kaduna state, ChannelsTV reports. A brother of the chief, Anthony Maude who confirmed the development through telephone on Monday, said the monarch was kidnapped on his farm located at Gitata community, a boundary between Kaduna and Nasarawa states. Sokoto governor and chairperson of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, governors’ forum, Aminu Tambuwal on Monday, inaugurated the N6.12 billion newly constructed Bauchi Government House. Sokoto government has confirmed that kidnappers abducted passengers in one of the State Transport Authority, SSTA, bus traveling from Gusau, Zamfara state capital. The general manager of the transport agency, Yahuza Chika who confirmed the development to newsmen on Monday, however denied that three vehicles were involved, adding that he was not in position to make further comments on the incident.
