Nigerian banks will begin charging a ₦50 stamp duty on electronic transfers of ₦10,000 and above from January 1, 2026, following the implementation of the Tax Act. Nigeria posted an overall Balance of Payments (BOP) surplus of $4.60 billion in the third quarter of 2025, reversing the deficit recorded in the preceding quarter, according to data released by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
