The Federal Government under the National Agricultural Seed Council (NASC) has introduced a disease resistance maize to farmers in Akwa Ibom. Mr Mmoeyak Usua, the Regional Director of the Council, South-South Zone, disclosed this during the 2020 Farmers’ Field Day organised by NASC in collaboration with Premier Seeds, Du Pont and Bayer Seed Companies in Uyo on Wednesday. Mr Igbekele Akinrinwa, The Chairman of Okitipupa local government council of Ondo state, said on Wednesday that the council lost assets and valuables worth N1.5 billion when hoodlums hijacked the #EndSARS protest. Akinrinwa said that he was totally devastated over the major havoc wreaked on social infrastructure and on properties of residents in the area. The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, has appealed to members of the Reformed Niger Delta Avengers (RNDA) to halt its planned attacks on oil facilities in the region.
