Bauchi state has received the first batch of 80,570 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine. The vaccine, which arrived the state via the Yakubu Gowon Airport Jos on Tuesday, was received at the Bauchi Cold store by the deputy governor and chairman taskforce committee on COVID-19, Mr Baba Tela. The Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) has been given the final approval by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) for its demutualisation exercise. The NSE said in a statement on Wednesday that the demutualisation process had been completed with these final approvals. Under the demutualisation plan, a new non-operating holding company, the Nigerian Exchange Group Plc (‘NGX Group’) has been created. The Group will have three operating subsidiaries: Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX Limited), the operating exchange; NGX Regulation Limited (NGX REGCO), the independent regulation company and NGX Real Estate Limited (NGX RELCO). The Vice Chancellor of Sokoto State University, Prof. Sani Dangoggo has said that 36 of the 1,473 students that would graduate in a combined 1st, 2nd and 3rd convocation, will be conferred with first class degrees. He stated this during a pre-convocation press conference at Board room of the university on Tuesday. The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has denied non remittance of N4.76 trillion to the federation account as claimed by the 2016 report of the Office of Auditor -General of the Federation (OAGF). Mr Umar Ajiya, NNPC Chief Financial Officer, said this when he appeared before Senate Committee on Public Accounts to defend queries raised by AOGF against the corporation. Umar said that the issue in question had to do with domestic crude that NNPC lifted to both refine and sell in exchange for refined products imported to the country.

The Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN, on Tuesday said the ongoing projects being executed by the company would boost the national power grid by additional 4,000 Megawatts when completed.
