The African Union Commission on Thursday, despatched a seven – day fact-finding team to N’Djamena, Chad with a mission to assess the situation in country and examine ways of a speedy return to democratic rule, AfricaNews has reported. The delegation will, after the seven day visit, produce a report at the end of its mission which will enable the Peace and Security Council to adopt a definitive position on the measures to be taken. Zamfara state governor, Bello Muhammad has approved minor reshufflement of his Commissioners. This is contained in a statement by the Secretary to the Zamfara State Government, Bala Maru on Friday. Mohammed Bungudu has been moved from Special Duties to Ministry of Water Resources; Lawal Abubakar Zanna from Science and Technical Education to Ministry of Special Duties and Buhari Gora is deployed to Ministry of Science and Technical Education. The risk of COVID-19 resurgence remains high in several African countries due to poor adherence to public health measures, including mass gatherings, low testing and vaccination rates, an analysis by the World Health Organization (WHO) has shown. Three countries face very high risk of COVID-19 resurgence, 20 face high, 22 moderate risk, and only one country faces low risk, according to the risk assessment of 46 countries, a WHO Africa Regional Office said in statement on Thursday. Benue has recorded a drop in malaria cases from 23 per cent to 12.8 per cent, Commissioner for Health, Dr Joseph Ngbea said. Ngbea, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Andrew Amee, made this known while briefing newsmen in Makurdi. Access Bank Plc has posted a profit before tax (PBT) of N60.1 billion, representing an increase of 30 per cent for the first quarter ended March 31. The Chief Executive Officer of the group, Mr Herbert Wigwe, disclosed in an unaudited financial report notice sent to the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) Ltd., on Thursday in Lagos.
