The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, on Tuesday disowned a fake quiz competition trending online, which claims to celebrate its 50th anniversary. This is contained in a statement by the spokesperson of the Corporation, Garba Deen Mohammed on Tuesday. “In the purported quiz contest, unsuspecting participants are encouraged to answer four questions on their knowledge of the Corporation, with the eventual winner standing the chance of winning some cash reward of up to N30,000. “The NNPC wishes to state categorically that it has nothing to do with the purported 50th anniversary quiz contest,” the terse statement reads.

Bandits in a market attacked in Goronyo local government area of in Sokoto state on Sunday, killed over 60 people, Daily Star has reported. The gunmen who stormed the Goronyo market around 5pm, were reportedly shooting sporadically at traders in a two-hour operation. The Minamata Convention on Mercury (“Minamata Convention”) is an international environmental convention for global community to work collaboratively against mercury pollution.
