The Taraba state government on Sunday said 77 persons tested HIV-positive out of 2,156 tested during the ongoing mass testing and treatment to ensure HIV-free society by 2030. The Director-General, Taraba State Agency for the Control of Aids (TACA), Dr Garba Danjuma disclosed this during TACA’s weekly review performance of the Implementation by partners working across HIV, tuberculosis, Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC). The Jigawa state command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), has said that six persons died in a lone fatal auto crash in Malamadori local government area of the state on Saturday. The spokesperson of the command, Mr Ibrahim Gambo confirmed this to newsmen in Dutse on Saturday. Taraba state governor, Darius Ishaku on Friday, said that the Taraba International Milling Company (TIMC) would commence rice milling operations in December. Ishaku made the disclosure during a working visit to the company site in Gassol town, Gossol local government area. Namibia and Germany signed a financial cooperation agreement that would see the latter providing about $170 million in a loan on favorable terms to support economic development in Namibia. This is disclosed in a joint statement by the two governments on Friday. The Nasarawa state government says it administered malaria preventive drugs to 775,905 children under five years across the state in 2021. Mr Ahmed Yahaya, the Commissioner for Health made the disclosure at a media parley to commence the second round of the Seasonal Malaria Chemo-prevention (SMC) campaign on Friday in Lafia. The Commissioner said that 816,532 children were being targeted for the second round of the exercise in 2022.
