The Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) on Tuesday, increased the country’s Monetary Policy Rate (MPR) by 100 basis points to 16.5 per cent from 15.5 per cent. Announcing the committee’s decision at the end of its two-day meeting on Tuesday, the CBN Governor, Mr Godwin Emefiele, said the MPC also decided to hold all other parameters constant. The Police Command in Lagos says it has arrested a 27 year-old woman, Miss Esther Paul for allegedly stabbing her boyfriend, one Sadiq Dahiru to death. The command’s spokesman, SP Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed the arrest on Sunday.
