The Quarter Guard of the Niger State Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, has received a befitting facelift and will now be functional.
The facelift of the Command was done by the Special Marshals of Unit 3 and 5 in Niger state.
According to Niger State Coordinator of the Special Marshals, Deacon Oyeniran Shina, the repairs of the quarter guard gulped N650,000, adding that the project was done to improve the image of the Sector.
“As men of timber and calibre, we saw that the quarter guard was not enforcing, that is why we deemed it fit to give it a facelift so that whoever is coming in here will appreciate the office and rate us high.”
The Quarter Guard was commissioned by the Niger state Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani-Bello in Minna on Wednesday.
Sani-Bello commended the Special Marshals for the project and the goodwill of the Command at heart.
Represented by the Permanent Secretary, Security and Cabinet, Alhaji Isah Ekan, the Governor said that the Special Marshals had demonstrated their commitment and dedication to the corps and their wellbeing.
“This is in tandem with the ethics of military and para-military tradition of alertness, cleanliness and teamwork. The Quarter Guard serves as an area of responsibility for those detailed to ensure the safety of the personnel and equipment in their care.”
In his address, the Niger state FRSC Sector Commander, Corps Commander Joel Dagwa said that the quarter guard will bring beauty to the station and keep his men alert at all times.
He appreciated the efforts of the Special Marshals for partnering with them to give the Quarter Guard a facelift, saying the Special Marshals have always been supportive to the Command.
