Kebbi inaugurates free NYIF registration for youths

The Kebbi state government has commenced the free registration of Nigeria’ Youth Investment Fund (NYIF), for youths across the state.

The Commissioner for Youths and Sports Development, Alhaji Gidado Kaliel, stated this on Wednesday, while flagging off the NYIF free registration at Emir’s Palace, in Birnin Kebbi.

He said that, the NYIF Initiative from President Muhammdu Buhari was one of the numerous youth programs designed to bolster the socioeconomic status of the youths.

According to him , governor Abubakar Bagudu, has in the bid to ensure the full participation of the youths from the state approved and directed his Ministry to begin the free registration for NYIF scheme.

The Commissioner also disclosed that , Bagudu also directed the Ministry to embark on massive sensitization, to fully mobilise they youths in the state.

“We have opened registration centers in all the 21 local government areas , this is in addition to other areas, in all the nooks and crannies of the state.

“This program is beneficial to you , so, don’t be left out ,tell those at home to come out and register, it is free of charge,” he emphasized.

He further explained that, youths between the age bracket of 18 to 35 years could access from 250,000 to 3 million naira.

The Commissioner, while urging the youths to come out and get registered, commended President Muhammdu Buhari for the initiative in spite of the present economic condition of the country .

Kaliel also lauded the Kebbi State Governor, for giving the Ministry the nod to carry out the excercise.

In their separate goodwill messages, the Commissioner for Information Communication and Technology , Hon Abdullahi Muhammadu Magoro, Commissioner for Information and Culture, Hon Mahmuda Wara and that of Animal Health, Husbandry and Fisheries, Hon Aminu Garba Dandiga, all urged the youths to fully take advantage of the golden opportunity. .

The Commissioner for Information and Culture, particularly stressed the need for the youths to access the funds, to engage in economic activity so that they too can become employers of labour.

“All these funds are meant to enhance your innovation and talents, as well as change your mindset to stop depending on whilte collar jobs alone.”

He further appealed to them to equally help in sensitizating their colleagues, to fully mobilise to do the registration.

On her part, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry for Women Affairs, Hajiya Aishatu Maikurata, called on women to strive not to be left out .

She enjoined the women to join the laudable Program to their advantage and that of the society .

Dr Buhari Usman Gwandu and Alhaji Nura Bello, the State Chairman of NASME, shared vital tips and information on the Nigeria’ Youth Investment Fund (NYIF), on the locations of the centers for registration and other vital information.

It will be recalled that , the Hon Commissioner for Youths and Sports Development, Gidado Aliyu Kaliel, on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2020, met with the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Hassan Shalla, ALGON Chairman, who is also the National Deputy President of ALGON, Barrister Shehu Mashal and Secretary to the Emirate Council, to solicit for their support and cooperation towards ensuring the success of the excercise in the 21 LGAs in Kebbi State
