ASHENEWS reports that the Commissioner of Police, Niger State Command, CP Ogundele Ayodeji has warned miscreants to steer clear of the proposed inauguration venue.

Mr Ogundele Ayodeji, the Commission of Police in the state gave the warning via a statement issued by DSP Wasiu Abiodun, the spokesman of the command.

Ayodeji said that the command has ordered for massive deployment of police operatives, who will be working in collaboration with other security agencies.

“The Police water cannon vehicle and other operational assets of the Command will be strategically positioned at the venue to tackle any form of the miscreant disorder, while Police and other security operatives will be positioned along the routes and major roundabouts leading to the Inauguration Ground.

“During the event, we will be taking rigorous safety measures on persons entering the venue, which include screening and searching, and take charge of traffic control in collaboration with the protocol sub-committee of the transition committee towards ensuring a free traffic flow.

“In view of the above, the Police Command hereby warns Nigerlites, non-state actors, or miscreants who do not have any business around the vicinity or may want to foment trouble during the ceremony to have a rethink or steer clear as security agencies will not hesitate to subdue any confrontation or act of insecurity, as measures are emplaced to ensure serenity and orderliness, “he said.

The command urged members of the public to cooperate with the Police for a peaceful transition of power in the State and to report any suspicious activity or persons to the Police or other relevant security agencies.
