The Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu Youth Professionals Support Group has expressed its plans to canvass three million votes for the second term bid of the Lagos state fovernor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

This was disclosed during the inauguration of the BOSYOPS campaign in Alausa, Ikeja on Monday.

The BOS Youths Professional Support group (BOSYOPS) was borne out of appreciation of the Sanwo-Olu-led administration towards youths empowerment and support.

The group comprises of young professionals, technocrats, business people, social activists, advocates, political analysts, social commentators, intellectuals, and other people of similar mind.

It highlighted how the Lagos state government has operated open door system to support the dreams of young entrepreneurs, which does not require knowing someone of affluence in government.

Giving testimony on how Lagos state keyed into his vision, Founder of Atmosphere, Ayowande Adelemo said it was important to have value that could be beneficial to all and sundry in order to thrive.

“I will share a personal experience; I was on my way to work and I needed to send an urgent mail and all the mobile network that I was using were down. Then I asked myself why can’t we have network at the BRT bus stops.

“So I spoke with my friend who suggested that I should go and speak with Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA). I walked into the office and asked to see the Managing Director without an appointment.

“The Director was gracious enough and spared me five minutes and everything, as they say, is history. I thought it was a joke until I got a letter from LAMATA telling me to go the busiest Bus Shelter to test run it; we had so much users at the Ikorodu and TBS terminals.

“The morale of my testimony is that you don’t need to know anyone to achieve a dream. I didn’t know anyone but our dear governor and LAMATA have given life to our vision. Such a visionary leader deserves another term in office,” he said.

Some of the objectives of the group is to project BOS’ image through the grassroots with a view to building a moral follower-ship.

The group also want to model Lagos state by showing young achievers who are bold enough to identify with what the government is doing.

The state Commissioner for Agriculture and convener of the group, Abisola Olusanya disclosed that the group intends to shape the ideology of millennials on the electoral process and participation as well as build a strong chapter in every neighbourhood and local government

“The BOSYOPS group is committed to promoting the governor’s achievements and bid for a second term in office through the strategic deployment of our skills, know-how and resources towards harnessing the youth segment.

“Our objective is to model Lagos, showing young achievers who are bold enough to identify with what the government is doing in Lagos and give their support and endorsement.

Also speaking at the launch, the Chief Executive Officer of Atmosphere, Mr. Ayowande Adalemo highlighted the importance of the public and private sectors to work together towards development in the state.

“Over 40 young professionals in Lagos do not know anybody in government before they were supported based on their values and concepts and I want to say that a greater Lagos can only come when public and private institutions come together to work for young people,” he said.
