ASHENEWS reports that the terrorists also burnt down two third of the houses, food items and carted away undisclosed number of animals from the village.
The terrorists Tuesday night struck Raka community in Tangaza local government area of Sokoto state, killing a 120-year-old woman and five other persons.
Confirming the attack, the District Head of Raka, Sa’idu Wakili said although no one was kidnapped, the terrorists burnt down two third of the houses, food items and rustled cattle.
He called on state and federal governments to intensify efforts toward addressing security challenges in the area.
Wakili also called on wealthy individuals to come to their aid as they were now rendered homeless.
The acting chairman of Tangaza local government council, Ibrahim Lawal Junju, accompanied by the Special Adviser on Roads Maintenance, Engr. Mai Damma Tangaza, visited to commiserate with the community
They described the attacks as unfortunate and promised to forward their findings to the government for necessary assistance to the victims.
