Sokoto state chapter of Miyatti Allah Cattle Breeders Association (MACBAN) says it has declared its total support for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), according to a statement by the spokesperson of the party.
The chairman of the association, Muhammadu Magaji Gabuwa Silame made the declaration during a brief ceremony organised to receive its members from Wurno local government who defected from APC to PDP on Wednesday.
The Chairman, who spoke through his deputy, Umaru Abdullahi Wababe said their “decision became imperative because the APC-led federal government has failed Nigerians in every sector.”
He assured that they will work hard to ensure the success of PDP candidates at all levels.
He appreciated the efforts of the Sokoto state government under the leadership of governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal towards bringing developments in the state, as well as assisting its members.
Receiving the decampees, PDP state chairman, Bello Aliyu Goronyo welcomed their decision and assured them of equal treatment.
He also called on them to use their wealth of experience and embark on door-to- door campaigns to ensure all the fulani herdsmen and women vote for PDP candidates at all levels.
Speaking earlier, the chairman of Wurno local government chapter of MACBAN, Ardo Shehu Suleiman said that they decamped to PDP in order to vote APC out of office, whom, he said, they voted out of ignorance.
He assured their total support to all PDP candidates.
Those who graced the occasion, were state Commissioner of Commerce and Industries, Bashir Gidado; Wurno local government council chairman, Abubakar Arzika and PDP Chairman of Wurno local government, Yusuf Marafa Wurno, among others.
