Terrorists have killed five people and abducted 16 others in fresh attacks in communities of Birnin-Gwari local government area of Kaduna state.
This is contained in statement by chairman, Birnin-Gwari Vanguard for Security and Good Governance, Ibrahim Nagwari made available to ASHENEWS on Saturday.
According to Nagwari, the attacks were carried out in eastern part of Birnin-Gwari including Dogo Dawa, Layin Mahuta and Tabanni villages, adding that five people were killed and 16 abducted between Monday 14th to Friday 18th March, 2022.
“On Tuesday, March 15th, Haruna Tanko Dogon Dawa and two other people were cruelly murdered in the eastern part of Birnin Gwari by armed bandits along Dogon Dawa- Zaria road. Eight other people were abducted by the bandits at old Tabanni.
“At Layin Mahuta (Tabanni) one Abdullahi Abubakar, a school teacher was killed by bandits along Layin Lasan- Tabanni road on Wednesday 16th March, 2022. On Thursday 17th March 2022, a 70-year old man was killed and seven women abducted at Layin Mahuta Tabanni. Two other people were abducted by the bandits at old Tabanni,” the statement reads.
Nagwari added that “in Randagi general area, bandits have released 32 people out of the 46 abducted from attacks at Unguwar Bula and Ijinga three weeks ago, after paying N16 million.”
He called on security personnel to always respond to distress calls around Dogon Dawa, Kuyello, Tabanni and Kutemeshi wards in Birnin- Gwari.
