Gunmen on Thursday attacked Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic Zaria, Kaduna state and abducted unspecified number of lecturers and their families.
An official of Kaduna Sate Vigilance Service who did not want to be mentioned, said some students of the institution were also injured.
The official, who did not give details, said the incident occurred on Thursday night between 10.30pm and 11pm.
The spokesperson of the polytechnic, Abdullahi Shehu, confirmed the incident, adding that management was trying to ascertain the exact number of people affected.
Also confirming the incident, the spokesperson of Kaduna Police Command, ASP Mohammed Jalige said he was still awaiting details on the matter.
He promised to get in touch with newsmen as soon as such details were available.
