Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has nominated his spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, and Balarabe Sa’idu Gani for appointment as commissioners.

The governor has forwarded the names of the two nominees to the Kano State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation.

The Assembly is expected to conduct the screening exercise on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, at 10:00 a.m.

The Assembly’s spokesperson, Kamaluddeen Sani Shawai, disclosed this in a statement on Monday, confirming that the legislature had received a formal request from Governor Yusuf to screen the nominees.

According to him, the exercise will be conducted in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Bature, who currently serves as the governor’s spokesperson, is among the two nominees awaiting legislative screening and confirmation.

If confirmed, the nominees will join the state executive council as commissioners.
