The Kano State Contributory Healthcare Management Agency (KSCHMA) has conferred an ambassadorial title on the District Head of Madobi, Baba Musa-Kwankwaso, for his strong support of grassroots healthcare advocacy.

The agency’s Public Relations Officer (PRO), Aminu Ahmad-Turaki, announced this in a statement on Thursday in Kano.

Ahmad-Turaki said KSCHMA bestowed the title during a courtesy visit to the traditional ruler as part of the agency’s statewide sensitisation and healthcare quality assurance campaign.

The Executive Secretary of KSCHMA, Dr Rahila Aliyu-Muktar, described traditional institutions as critical partners in advancing Universal Health Coverage. She emphasised that they play a vital role through sustained community sensitisation and public participation.

Represented by the PRO, Dr Aliyu-Muktar explained that the agency conferred the title to recognise Baba-Kwankwaso’s leadership, community mobilisation efforts, and support for contributory healthcare in Madobi Local Government Area.

She stressed that traditional rulers play an indispensable role in creating awareness and encouraging residents to enrol in healthcare programmes.

Dr Aliyu-Muktar reaffirmed that KSCHMA will continue to collaborate with traditional institutions, healthcare providers, and communities to achieve Universal Health Coverage and advance Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s Kano First Agenda.

In his response, Baba-Kwankwaso thanked the agency for the honour and commended its efforts to deepen healthcare advocacy at the grassroots level.

He pledged that the traditional institution will continue to support healthcare awareness, encourage enrolment, and mobilise communities to utilise services under the state’s contributory healthcare scheme.
