The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) has sealed 10 establishments across the state for persistent violations of environmental regulations.
The enforcement exercise, carried out on Wednesday, was announced by the agency on its X handle on Thursday.
According to LASEPA, the action aligns with the Lagos State Government’s directive on strict compliance with environmental laws.
The sealed establishments include:
- Grandeur Meridian, Obasa Akiniyi Street, Oluwaga, Ipaja
- Lasola (Spazio Bar), Ipaja Road, Fatolu Bus Stop, Ipaja
- Millennium Restaurant, Gate Bus Stop, Ayobo, Ipaja
- O2 Exquisite Suites & Tower, Jimoh Akinremi Street, Akowonjo
- Chirozz Hotel & Suites, Samuel Street, Egbeda
- House 7 Hotel, Remi Akande Street, Egbeda
- House 48, Isiba Oluwo Street, Egbeda
- Exclusive Hotel, Ishan Kimishe, Akesan Bus Stop
- City Int’l Motel, Chief Olu-Adegbite Street, Idimu
- Sabola Ventures Ltd., Km 11, LASU-Isheri Road, Igando (for operating without an effluent treatment plant and discharging untreated effluent)
Speaking on the development, the General Manager of LASEPA, Dr Babatunde Ajayi, reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to protecting public health and the environment.
“Compliance with environmental regulations is a collective responsibility,” he said.
Ajayi warned that the agency would continue to intensify enforcement against violators and urged residents and business owners to adopt environmentally responsible practices and comply with regulatory requirements.
