Tamunosoye Karibi-George, representing Bayelsa State, has been crowned Miss World Nigeria 2026.
She edged out 20 finalists to win the highly coveted crown at the grand finale held over the weekend in Lagos.
The competition, themed “Pride, Power, and Purpose,” included contestants from across Nigeria, featuring talent showcases, interviews, and evening wear rounds.
With her victory, the 26-year-old Queen from Port Harcourt, Rivers State, will represent Nigeria at the 73rd Miss World Festival in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, from August 9 to September 5.
Karibi-George succeeds Joy Raimi, Miss World Nigeria 2025, who represented Nigeria at the 72nd Miss World pageant in Hyderabad, India, reaching the Top 20 and placing in the Top 5 from Africa.
Senator Ben Murray-Bruce, founder of the Silverbird Group and former lawmaker for Bayelsa East, celebrated her win, describing Karibi-George as “more than a queen.”
He posted on X: “WE HAVE A QUEEN! A new chapter begins. Please join us in celebrating TAMUNOSOYE KARIBI-GEORGE, representing Bayelsa State, as the newly crowned Miss World Nigeria 2026!”
He highlighted her advocacy through the initiative Beyond Labels, which promotes inclusion, dignity, and empowerment for children with special needs.

Miss World Nigeria, organized by the Silverbird Group, is one of Nigeria’s premier beauty pageants. It selects Nigeria’s representative for the international Miss World competition.
