Renewed hope network endorses Tinubu for re-election, Hamzat for 2027 Lagos governorship

A political mobilisation group, the Renewed Hope Network (RHN), on Sunday endorsed President Bola Tinubu for re-election.

The group also endorsed Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr Obafemi Hamzat, as its candidate for governor in the 2027 election.

The endorsements were announced during a prayer session for Tinubu and Hamzat held at Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos Island.

The group is led nationally by Sen. Abdul’aziz Yari, while Rep. James Faleke (Ikeja Federal Constituency) serves as its Convener.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who attended the event, described it as significant for the continued development of Lagos State and Nigeria.

He said the gathering reflected the government’s commitment to progress, good governance, and the welfare of the people.

The governor highlighted President Tinubu’s reforms in the economy, infrastructure, education, social investment, and security.

He added that votes for Tinubu and Hamzat would guarantee quality representation, economic stability, and continuity.

Sanwo-Olu assured the audience that his administration would continue working for the progress of Lagos State.

“I promise that you will all enjoy the dividends of democracy,” he said.

Rep. James Faleke said Lagos had become more united behind the candidacies of the President and the Deputy Governor.

According to him, the President has performed well in the past three years.

“The President laid the infrastructure and economic foundations that ought to have been laid many years ago,” he said.

“We are not afraid of critics. We welcome criticism that is in the interest of Nigerians, but we will not be distracted by criticism rooted in selfish interest.

“Together, we will carry this Renewed Hope Agenda to a resounding victory in 2027.”

In his remarks, former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello praised Tinubu’s leadership.

“You don’t have to come to Kogi State for campaign. I can assure you that you have our votes 100 per cent,” he said.

Responding to the endorsements, Dr Obafemi Hamzat urged Nigerians to come out in large numbers to re-elect President Tinubu in 2027.

He called on the people to support the President’s efforts in stabilising and securing the country.

“President Tinubu deserves another term to consolidate the achievements already made and to ensure continued prosperity for citizens,” he said.

In his goodwill message, the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mr Mudashiru Obasa, said the gathering was not only for prayer but also to reaffirm the APC’s collective commitment to the future of Lagos State and Nigeria.

According to him, prayer is the foundation of strength, but action is the proof of faith.

“Today, our action is clear: we stand firmly behind the re-election of our leader, President Bola Tinubu, and Dr Obafemi Kadiri Hamzat as the next governor of our state.

“Re-election of the President is not just about continuity; it is also about consolidating the gains of the Renewed Hope Agenda and keeping Nigeria on the path of prosperity.

“We are duty-bound to make this happen for this generation and for posterity,” he said.

Obasa described Hamzat as a loyal, capable, and dedicated servant of the people.

“His partnership in governance has strengthened Lagos, and his leadership will ensure that our state continues to shine as the heartbeat of Nigeria,” he added.

Earlier, the RHN Director-General, Mr Oyinlomo Danmole, described the group as a dynamic grassroots movement dedicated to local networking.

“Our mission is to directly engage with ordinary Nigerians in their own languages, respecting their cultures and traditions, while localising the Renewed Hope Agenda in every ward, polling unit, and community across the country,” he said.

Christian and Islamic prayers were offered by Bishop Stephen Adegbite, Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (Lagos State Chapter), and Sheikh AbdurRahman Lawal, Amir of Nadwat-ul-Ahli Islam Society of Nigeria, respectively.

They prayed for national peace, prosperity, protection, and divine guidance for Lagos State and Nigeria.

The event attracted APC chieftains, religious leaders, traditional rulers, youth groups, women associations, and members of various grassroots organisations.
