FBNQuest Merchant Bank Ltd., a provider of integrated financial and wealth solutions, has reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing a financially empowered generation.

Mr. Afolabi Olorode, Acting Managing Director and CEO of FBNQuest Merchant Bank, said the bank had extended its financial literacy campaign to Kings’ College, Lagos, as part of the World Savings Day 2025 commemoration.

The initiative aims to equip students with practical knowledge on financial independence and long-term wealth creation. World Savings Day, observed annually on October 31, is a global awareness campaign that educates people—particularly the youth—on prudent financial planning.

Olorode noted that the programme, championed by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), underscores the critical role of financial institutions in fostering a culture of savings and prudent financial habits among young Nigerians.

Speaking on the theme, “Beyond Savings – Building Financial Resilience,” he said: “Financial literacy is fundamental to sustainable economic empowerment. We urge students to embrace disciplined financial habits early. FBNQuest remains committed to initiatives that build a financially astute generation capable of driving Nigeria’s economic growth.”

The interactive session saw students actively engage with questions on budgeting, managing allowances, and making informed financial decisions, reflecting a growing interest in financial education among young Nigerians.

Mr. Magaji Zachariah, Principal of Kings’ College, Lagos, expressed appreciation for the initiative, saying: “We are delighted to host FBNQuest Merchant Bank for this impactful programme. Practical financial education is as critical as academic excellence, and today’s session has undoubtedly equipped our students to become responsible, financially disciplined adults.”

FBNQuest Merchant Bank is a full-service merchant bank offering investment banking, advisory, and transaction services to corporate, institutional, and government clients. The bank also promotes social impact through initiatives such as the Epic Walk, which encourages wellness, community engagement, and development.
