In today’s world, businesses are increasingly aware that operating sustainably is no longer just an option—it’s essential. As environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles continue to reshape industries globally, Nigerian companies are recognizing that integrating these values into their operations is vital for long-term success. It helps companies manage risks, meet regulations, and build stronger relationships with stakeholders and investors who prioritize sustainability.

To support this shift, Sterling One Foundation, in collaboration with PwC, NGX, UNIDO ITPO Nigeria, LBS Sustainability Centre, LCCI, NECA, and Sterling Bank, is excited to host ESG Series 4.0 on October 25, 2024. This event will provide a platform for leaders and innovators to share insights on how businesses can advance sustainable development and create meaningful impact.

Now in its fourth edition this year, the Series continues to deepen the conversation around sustainability in Nigeria and across Africa. Each session builds on the last, offering practical solutions and sparking essential discussions on how businesses can implement ESG frameworks that not only drive growth but also build resilience. With two focused tracks, Series 4.0 will equip participants with the knowledge and tools needed to develop strong ESG strategies that position their organizations for success.

The event will feature a dynamic lineup of ESG leaders, corporate executives, and sustainability advocates who are passionate about making businesses more sustainable. Attendees can look forward to valuable discussions on how to improve environmental, social, and governance reporting, manage risks, and align sustainability goals with broader business strategies. These insights will help companies stay ahead of evolving ESG standards and implement best practices that enhance long-term value.

Among the keynote speakers are Olapeju Ibekwe, CEO of Sterling One Foundation, who will serve as host for the event. A passionate advocate for social change and sustainability, she will share her experience and vision for integrating ESG into business practices.

Speaking on the need for real action, she said: “As businesses continue to embrace sustainability principles, we must move beyond just talking about change and focus on implementing strategies that truly make a difference. ESG Series 4.0 is about giving companies the tools to build impactful, resilient strategies that support both growth and sustainability.”

Bolanle Adekoya, Partner and PwC West Africa Platform Leader for ESG & Sustainability will provide insights on overcoming ESG challenges and meeting regulatory standards, drawing from her wealth of experience.

Nana Maidugu, Head of Sustainability and ESG at NSIA, will share strategies for streamlining ESG reporting, ensuring businesses can efficiently align with evolving standards, while Adewale Oyerinde, Director-General of NECA, will deliver a goodwill message, inspiring thoughtful conversations around sustainability and the future of Nigerian businesses.

This session promises to be a valuable opportunity for businesses looking to strengthen their ESG efforts and stay ahead in a rapidly changing world.
